How To… Write A Persuasive Marketing Email

A persuasive marketing email does three things well: grabs attention, builds desire, and makes the next step feel easy.
This is your weekly Entrepreneur Insights 5-minute read with ideas to improve your business in a How-to series format.
Grab attention
Start with a clear, benefit-driven subject line. Instead of “Our new course is live,” try “Learn to write persuasive emails in one weekend.” Your reader should instantly see what’s in it for them.
Build desire
Open with a hook that connects to a specific problem or desire your audience has. Show them you understand their situation before you pitch anything. Use simple, conversational language and short paragraphs to keep them reading.
Next step
Next, introduce your offer as the bridge between their problem and their desired outcome. Focus on results, not features. Replace “8 video modules” with “a simple framework you can apply to every email you write.” Add one or two short proof elements: a quick testimonial, a result, or a number.
Finish with a single, clear call to action (CTO). Tell them exactly what to do and what happens next, like “Click here to enroll now and start writing higher-converting emails today.”
Clarity and focus persuade far more than clever words.
Quote for the week
“Character may almost be called the most effective means of persuasion.”—Aristotle, an ancient Greek philosopher and polymath.
